Though I was rushing around documenting the Walk in Remembrance, scouting out locations, meeting up with Al and Mike as well as touching base with historians, local dignitaries, journalists, school faculty members and community organizers, I never tired of the beautiful, varied and historic landscapes of Silesia.
At the start of Press On | Walk in Remembrance, the countryside was relatively flat and open with slightly rolling hills. But as we progressed west and slightly northward the countryside became more hilly and wooded. At points, we were only a few kilometers away from the Czech Republic border.
Beautiful quaint villages with picturesque churches and farm houses marked the route.
